At TECHTURUP ApS we work with architecture and industrial design.
Lars Techt Myrhøj and Stefan Urup Kaplan are both trained architects from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen.
In the years 2008 to 2012 they were colleagues in different offices in Copenhagen and in the spring of 2012 they teamed up and won a design competition on a new rescue ladder for Danish harbors.
This became the starting point to start a new design company with the goal of making meaningful design, including life-saving equipment.
With experience from the construction industry and projects on a larger scale, Lars and Stefan work with a contextual approach to the creation of industrial design in which the design object is not seen alone, but is developed in relation to its surroundings.
Lars and Stefan have also developed LifeLadder, a commercial quay ladder for ports and marinas worldwide.
